What is Dysport? How Dysport Differs From Botox?

What is Dysport How Dysport Differs From Botox

Several cosmetic treatments can help reduce the look of wrinkles and fine lines on the face, such as those on the forehead.

At first, the search can seem overwhelming for people who want to improve their looks quickly and effectively without having plastic surgery. But the good news is that several ways to change your appearance don’t require any surgeries!

Botox and Dysport are two of the most common treatments at Preva Aesthetics. And today, we’ll help you understand how these two treatments differs and how they can help you in many ways!

If you’re thinking about getting Botox, Dermal fillers, or Sculptra for cosmetic reasons, we can also help. Check out this blog post now for more details!

Botox & Dysport

Botox and Dysport are neurotoxins used to get rid of wrinkles by injecting them into the skin. They relax the muscles well enough to eliminate fine to moderate lines and wrinkles.

Botox/Dysport can be used to keep lines and wrinkles from forming and to keep the skin’s elasticity. Injections of Botox and Dysport usually last between 3 and 5 months.

At Preva Aesthetics, we treat and prevent these signs of aging with Botox and Dysport, which the FDA has approved. But first, we’ll help you understand the difference and similarities between the two.

What They Have in Common?

First, the main active ingredient in each product is botulinum toxin type A. Bont is thought to be one of the most potent and deadly toxins ever found. Still, small amounts can temporarily paralyze muscles for a cosmetic effect.

They are injected into the muscles under the affected area to lessen the look of fine lines and wrinkles caused by making facial expressions. Dysport and Botox are used to get rid of fine lines similarly.

They can weaken muscle contraction’s strength, reducing the severity and depth of the crease in the upper face or other muscles affected. This stops a static wrinkle from forming, a wrinkle that is there even when you don’t move your face.

Both Dysport and Botox also have side effects that could happen. Most of the time, the injection site will get bruised, hurt, or turn red. You could also feel lightheaded, weak, or have a headache.

These symptoms go away in 12 to 48 hours. But even though it is rare, toxins could spread outside the treatment area. This could cause symptoms like botulism, such as trouble breathing and swallowing weak muscles, and slurred speech.

So, to reduce the chance of side effects, icing the area right after getting an injection helps a lot. Stopping certain medications and supplements that make you bleed more in the days before treatment can also help reduce the chance of bruising.

The Main Difference Between Dysport and Botox

Dysport and Botox are made differently, and the nontoxic proteins give them different potencies and possibly different effects that start at other times or last for various lengths of time.

Most studies have used 25 units of Dysport to have about the same effect as ten units of Botox. Some studies have shown that Dysport works faster, lasts longer, and hurts less than Botox.

Again, both Dysport and Botox are approved by the FDA for cosmetic uses to treat spasticity and dystonia in the neck in adults and to treat spasticity in the upper and lower limbs in children and teens over the age of 2.

Botox is also approved to treat chronic migraines, excessive sweating, bladder dysfunction, and urinary incontinence caused by certain neurological conditions, blepharospasm, and strabismus. Even though Botox and Dysport are typing botulinum toxins, the way they are made makes the proteins that are not toxins different.

This means there are a few ways the two products are the same and a few ways they are different.

Glabella or the “11s”

You can improve your look by getting an injection to smooth out the lines between your eyebrows, which are called “11s” because they are usually visible when you furrow your brows. A few Botox or Dysport injections will quickly eliminate these wrinkles, making you look younger.

Forehead Treatment

By reducing them, you can keep moderate to severe forehead wrinkles from getting worse. As the wrinkles and lines are taken care of, your skin will start to look better.

Crow’s Feet

Are you new to Botox or Dysport injections or looking to try someone else? We welcome you either way. When you walk into Preva Aesthetics for the first time, you’re a stranger, but they treat you like family!

Brow Lift

It helps the eyes feel better quickly. Neurotoxins raise the eyebrows, making them look younger and more alert. Neurotoxin injections can help you look even more beautiful than you already are.

Lip Flip

With a Botox Lip Flip, Botox is injected into the upper lip muscle near the edge of the lip. This relaxes the muscle and makes the lip turn up. It makes it look like your upper lip is fuller, plumper, and more natural.
